Learn modern hair embroidery with this colourful kit which is perfect for beginners. A great gift for anyone crafty in your life, the kit comes with top quality materials and full colour printed instructions to make stitching easy.
This Pre-Raphaelite inspired kit when stitched up will be a beautiful 7 inch 3D piece, and can be displayed in the hoop provided to show off the hair embroidery.
Featuring a beautiful bathroom, complete with pink bath tub, star tiles, marbled wallpaper and a jungle of plants, this design is inspired by the painting ‘Ophelia’ by Pre Raphaelite John Everett Millais - with a modern feminist twist.
You can learn up to 6 different stitches, including back stitch, French knots, chain stitch, lazy daisies, Algerian eye stitch, and turkey knots (the magical hair embroidery!) But because the background comes fully printed on organic cotton, you aren't tied to completing all the stitches - you can customise the piece to your taste.
The kit includes:
- pre-printed organic cotton with detailed colourful design
- organic cotton backing fabric to stabilise your stitches
- Elbesee 7 inch hardwood hoop, made in the UK
- 7 full skeins of DMC thread, plenty to complete the design and lots left over
- two sizes of embroidery needle
- a needle threader to make threading simple
- 12 page A5 full colour instruction booklet, with diagrams and detailed instructions
Finished piece measures 18cm diameter when displayed in hoop. Kit box measures 33cm width x 23.3cm length and 2.2cm deep.

My name is Hattie and I'm the founder of Stranded Stories Embroidery, which I set up in 2022. When I was an embroidery beginner, it was really hard to find designs that spoke to me- colourful, intricate and modern designs that were inspired by mythology, folklore, fantasy, art and books.
Plus, I'd also seen these really cool embroidery portrait pieces with amazing 3D effect hair- but I couldn't seem to find any kits to teach me… So, I designed them myself!
Stranded Stories has allowed me to bring my love of embroidery, multimedia art, and magical stories together.

Shipping FAQ
Shipping costs will differ on a kit by kit basis. Generally, we ship using Royal Mail, and once shipped you will receive tracking and shipping information. We also aim to ship your purchase, if its in stock, between 2-4 business days from purchase.
Shipping times may differ during high intensity shopping periods such as Black Friday and end of year holidays.
International shipping: Our kits ship from the United Kingdom. You are responsible for any import or custom fees incurred by the shipment.

Refund Policy
We want you to love your craft kits! If you're not satisfied with your purchase, you can return it within 14 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging.
If you’ve opened the item and you find there is an issue of any kind, please contact us within 30 days and we’ll work with you to find a solution. Unfortunately refunds cannot be issued if the kit has been used, or if any of the perishable items have been opened. For example, clay is unable to be reused once opened.
The shipping cost paid when the product was purchased is not refundable. You will be responsible for the shipping costs of returning an item.
Once your return is received, we will let you know you and update you on the status of your refund. Please keep in mind that if you receive a refund for your kit, you will also lose access to the digital lesson.
